One of our objectives is to keep our programs affordable to our members while pursuing our vision. In order to do so, we rely on fundraising activities to generate close to 40% of our revenues.
We require each family to take part in the grocery program, the Silent Auction and the raffle tickets. In addition, each family is required to volunteer a minimum of 2 shifts at fundraising or social events. These events include registration, the fall BBQ, the ski swap, the silent auction and the spring BBQ.
Through the generous contributions of Safeway Canada and Sobeys we are able to offer our grocery program, which allows families to raise funds for us by shopping for groceries. More information can be found here and will be available at registration.
The Annual Silent Auction is our largest fundraising event, raising over $25,000 per year thanks to the countless hours of volunteer work put in by our dedicated members. Information on the 2008/09 Silent Auction is available here and will be available at registration.
In collaboration with Alberta Alpine and the other clubs in the province, we take part each year in a raffle for a GM vehicle. Each family is required to purchase 15 tickets at $10 each. You then have the option of entering the draw or to sell the tickets. Ticket books are paid for at registration and will be available for pickup with your grocery coupons starting in November.<
On October 17th and 18th we will be having our annual ski and snowboard swap in partnership with the Snow Valley Ski Club. This is a great opportunity to sell some of your used equipment from last season and to get ready for the upcoming season.
Thanks to grants from organizations such as the Alberta Sports, Parks & Wildlife Foundations we are able to maintain or existing equipment as well as purchasing new equipment for training.
