The Grocery Card Program is one of the primary fundraising efforts that supports the organization and keeps our kids on the hill. It is a very simple program where our generous supporters sell Snow Valley Racing gift cards at a percentage of their face value allowing us to generate revenue at NO cost to our membership!!

Each family is obligated to purchase $2,500.00 of gift cards form either Safeway or Sobeys through our club. A combination of vendors can also be chosen. Families can opt out of the program and pay an opt out fee of $250.00 due October 1, 2010. Members are encouraged to buy extra cards to help support our association.

OK…that being said I must send a message to the folks whom might be ‘picking’ between our two retailers. If you are unsure or indifferent as to your choice, here is the breakdown of our profits per. Sobeys is very generous with 10% and Safeway with 8%. Again, we appreciate the generous support from both retailers, but are asking; if you are unsure please choose in the best interest of the club.

Next!! Please print off the sign-up form and make your selections. If you are unable to print it copies are available at the racing office. Upon making your selection that totals $2500 over 5 months, please mail or drop off your post dated cheques and selection form to the racing office no later than October 22, 2010. This year cards will be purchased in the third week of the month and distributed in the fourth. Cheques will not be cashed until the third week.

My goal is to distribute the cards Tuesdays 5:45pm – 6:15 pm and Saturdays 8:45am – 9:15am on the second floor in the lodge (specifics to follow via email). As our 2010/2011 program commences in the middle of November, snow permitting, I will arrange a late October/early November pickup date. Grocery cards will NOT be available for pickup at the office. Acknowledging that $500/month is a fair chunk of change I will endeavour to accommodate any families that are unable to make the specified pickup times.
